A Special Wedding Photography Wish Fulfilled

Daughter Angela

Mom Lucy on her wedding day

It was Angela's wedding day. Her mother, Luci.had married Eddie in a similar setting 37 years earlier.

Luci had an idea. She wanted to duplicate a few special photographs from her wedding 37 years ago. There were many similarities to Luci’s and her daughters wedding day. Both wedding venues were designed with family and tradition in mind. And the gowns were similar as well. Luci had worn an off-white taffeta gown with a cathedral length train. She was holding a bouquet of gardenias and white roses. Angela’s was champagne color, and she also carried roses. Both had beautiful beaded bodices and long trains.

On Luci’s wedding day she dressed at her mother’s house and posed in two very special photos. One had Luci positioned in front of a beautiful 10 foot arched window with lovely silk curtains behind her. Her silhouette would be highlighted by shadows with a hint of a smile on her face. The other photo showed her with her father. Both were unique and memorable.

As Angela was dressing, Luci pulled out her own wedding album and asked Daughter Angela if she would pose exactly the same way since it was so special to her. Angela and everyone there loved the idea.

I knew immediately how to capture these special moments, and with the help of my longtime assistant, Regina, the photos came alive.. As she watched the process unfold with Angela, Luci felt tears of happiness flow down her cheeks.

When the photos were ready, we sent the 1200 photographs to the family. Everything went spectacularly well and the pictures were perfect. Luci was especially excited when she saw the two special pictures of her daughter, Angela. We had been able to capture not only the look of the original, but the entire feel of the moment. Once again her eyes teared up. It was so striking to everyone how Angela resembled her mother. She had complete composure and looked so beautiful. That wonderful day and those special moments of 37 years ago had been captured.

Luci now knew this would be a wonderful family tradition passed from generation to generation on each daughter’s wedding day, and I was pleased we could help.
