Here are some tips to help you get wedding photos you will cherish for a lifetime and to help your special day go as smoothly as possible.
7 Tips to Help You Get Great Wedding Photos
1) Don't Rush---Schedule enough time between ceremony and reception for formal group shots. You can keep the stress down and make sure you can get all the group shots your heart desires by allowing enough time. Preferably at least an hour, so you can relax and enjoy the moment.
2) Have an Entourage -- Designate one or two bridesmaids that can help you with the gown and help with make-up touch-ups. Have snacks and water available for the bride. Inquire about our personal bridal assistant, if bridesmaids are not available. Remember--you are the star on your day, and stars have an entourage.
3) Location, Location, Location--If you are planning your reception at a different location than your ceremony, discuss your venue choices with your photographer to get suggestions on the best lighting, time of day and area of the venue to get the best photos. We have taken photographs at many Los Angeles area venues and can give tips on them and how to make the most of the one you choose.
4)) Practice Makes Perfect Style -- If you are going to have professional hair and makeup, have a practice session to make sure you are happy with the look, so there will be no unpleasant surprises to detract from your wedding day, and you will capture the look and style you want in your photos forever, Also, if the bride and bridesmaids schedule make-up, always allow extra time for make-up and hair. It usually takes longer than planned for.
5) Show Your Emotions--the best shots occur when the bride and groom's emotions show, and they don't hold back any affection to get romantic photos, and private moments. Photojounalism captures the candid emotions and events, that happen through the day--the laughter and joy, the special looks. Try to let the photographer fade into the background and just be yourself and enjoy your day, and a good photographer will catch some terrific moments for you.
6)) Tell a Story--Pre-ceremony shots showing the bride getting ready, as well as some shots of the bride and groom departing, added to the ceremony and reception help tell the story of the day and add to the enjoyment of your albums. Be sure your photographer captures these moments for you as well.
7) Have a Plan--Work with the photographer to plan everything in great detail so that you and your groom will enjoy the day and not be concerned with handling loose ends. We offer a free consultation, to go over the details of your wedding, taking notes to make sure everyone is on the same page.
